Speyside Whisky Festival - 27 April to 1 May

If you want to experience the true taste of Scotland this festival is for you... this is an annual festival with events daily throughout Moray and Speyside.  As the name suggests, the festival takes its origins from our World famous Whisky, the bulk of which comes from this area and there are so many distilleries to visit.  Don't be fooled though, this event has grown..... food, entertainment and shows take place too and there are special transport arrangements set up to allow you to partake in a wee dram or two.  For full details visit

When it comes to being in the great outdoors and taking in the freshest of air, it's quite hard to beat the Moray coast, the area is simply stunning with a wide variety of terrains, scenery and experiences from the whitest sandy beaches to the craggiest coastlines and inland, stunning hills and mountain scenery.  Ramnee is situated in the heart of Moray and surrounded by some of the finest scenery you will find.

Piping at Forres - Saturday 24 June  European Bagpipe Championships

Its here again this year, why?  because you cannot beat the sound in the natural amphitheatre that is Grant Park, just across from the Hotel. All the pipers say its one of the very best places to play.  If you choose to come along for this event you will not believe the sound of the massed pipe bands and the immense skill of the pipers, literally hundreds of pipers from all over Europe.  It's a family event again, all day, with food, stalls, beer tent, and other entertainment.  Come along and see us during the day or remember we will be serving food and drinks after the event closes until 9pm, families welcome.  Hopefully the sun will be shining and you can take advantage of our beautiful beer garden, ( the only one in Forres)

Forres Highland Games - Saturday 8 July

An event that really needs no introduction. All the tradition of the Games, with heavy lifting, running, throwing, Highland dancers, stalls, food, entertainment.  for further information visit

Colours of Cluny 8 - 19 November

A spectacular lighting event.  The inaugral event took place in 2016 and was a roaring success.  It really was quite mesmerising to take a walk around the Historic setting of Cluny Hill ( directly across from the Hotel).  Take the pathway leading up to Nelsons Tower and be amazed at how ethereal and beautiful it is, music plays while you are strolling around and there are moving art installations, kept secret until the event.  Once you reach the top a spectacular light and sound experience takes over the tower and you can sit under cover and enjoy some food or drinks.  It is not too strenuous as the path winds gently, however please see the website for further details regarding access for wheelchairs
